Team Europe (vs) Team USA

Mosconi is rolling in his grave...

The Mosconi Cup is a chance for European players to dominate the USA which they have done quite well, especially in the last couple years. Next year it will be held in the UK and will no doubt be a sell out over there. They will look forward to seeing pretty much the same sorry bunch who get beat year after year and they probably will. If America is serious about ever regaining the Cup they will have to dig deep for dedicated
young professional players who have a strong desire to succeed like Shane Van Boning.
As for the rest of this years team, only Dennis Hatch in my opinion, has any chance of returning to next years team!:grin-square:

Why? Dennis dogged his brains out this year. He flat out sucks.

Time to let some of the lesser known or popular US players have a stab at this gig as the usual suspects (same faces) are not cutting it. This team had the talent but no heart. Europe played balls to the wall and the US team never had a chance. Good thing it wasn't the USA versus Asia...that would really be bad.

Oh well, there's always next year...and the year after that...etc.

This has been discussed before but needs to be brought up again.

The Pro's in America have always been about themselves and never about the team. This could possibly change by bringing in new blood from the young guns but they have to be compatible and PROFESSIONAL. You can have passion to want to win, but you can't let your emotions run you over.

The Europeans have us beat hands down with their professionalism, demeanor, poise, dedication, focus, and just about anything else. The American team has tremendous talent, and if this was a one on one long race event, it would be a pick'em.

Just curious if anyone knows what time our team hit the sheets at night? How about the Europeans?

It's simple. 20 years ago we were ahead of the curve and couldn't care less who Europe brought. Now if we want to assure that dominance we need to play Africa or Australia or Antarctica. Certainly not Europe or Asia. Pool is just reflecting the rest of our country's general downward direction. We used to be bad ass, now we're just bad. Our egos haven't got the memo yet but they will.
