I am glad that you both respond on this site, its great to have you both. I have a question. Back in November I finally got my custom cue finished by a local maker. Nice mexican cocobolo with great points and ringwork. A buddy of mine bought a plain mexican cocobolo from him with no points and a little ringwork for $300. he does not like it and went back to his "old" National cue that he plays better with. He will sell me my makers cue for $100 that he has dinged up a bit. Which I am going to do. However I am wondering if I should turn it into a break cue. Give it back to my maker and have him make a thicker shaft with a phenolic tip. Do you think this is a wise plan of attack? Or should I just turn around and sell it for a little profit. I am breaking with a Tim Scruggs sneaky pete right now that absorbs a lot of my power. I was looking into a Predator BK today but they are $300. Just looking for anyones input. $100 for a custom cue is pretty good.
