The tables at the local Senior Center will hopefully be recovered soon after over a year trying to find someone to stop in to give a quote. Someone is stopping soon who posted in his ad that he uses a Teflon coated cloth.

Interested in opinions about this type of cloth.

Will it be thicker and fuzzier?, making the tables more like toys than good equipment?

What concerns should the Center have regarding this product? I understand there are several different qualities of Teflon coating cloth.

Definitely beware of the Brunswick Centennial Teflon-coated fabric. The fabric and the Teflon have disparate shrinkage/expansion rates, which causes "puckering" as the room's ambient humidity fluctuates at various times of the year. No matter how tight and expert the fabric's installation was, we'd get ripples that were at least 1/4 inch high and sometimes higher, especially in the vicinity of the side pockets, but also at all the corner pockets. There's no upside to the Teflon except slightly less CB witness marking on power breaks (those inevitable white trails).

Stick with Simonis or similar worsted without a Teflon component. You won't be sorry.

always choose your cloth first as you tend to get a lower quality one when it comes to the installer just having free way to choose. be specific with it. and insure he will come back and re stretch it if it comes loose.
