My son is going to school in Tempe. I asked him if he has found anything fun to do out there. He said he would like to find somewhere to play pool, but he hasn't met anyone who knows a good place. He is only eighteen so it can't be an over 21 place. Can anyone recommend a good place for him to play?

Thanks,
Tracy

Kolby's is in Tempe, but they haven't been keeping their equipment up from what I hear. Try Main Street Billiards, a few miles away from Kolby's in Mesa, on Main Street, just East of Dobson. They just put three gold crowns in there that are well taken care of.

Try Sixshooters on 35th and Peoria. It has many good players and allows minors until 7pm. Even then its sort of relaxed. I've seen 15 year olds playing on league nights as well as several other youngsters running around. Get in before 7 and don't attract any attention and you can stay...

Thanks, I guess as a student, he doesn't need to be out too late anyway.

If he's going to ASU they may have a rec center that has some tables for student use. Also, walking distance from ASU campus is a Sixshooters on Rural & University. I thought 18 yr olds could go in to play. The Sets on Mill & Southern I think may be 21 & up. Have him call to verify.
