"Heaven only knows what may have happened to those balls," said former Gov. Winfield Dunn, who bought the pool table — also up for bid — when he moved into the governor's mansion in 1971.
The starting bid for the as-is set is $10.
"The eight ball might be missing because Blanton found himself behind that," Dunn said, raising as a suspect his late successor, scandal-plagued Gov. Ray Blanton. "No telling where it is."
