The last WPBA event...another Canadian made her debut...Terri had a great result - she finished 17/24 and made $1750..

Its good to see Terri doing so well...she has long and hard on her game...

She is on top of the points in CWPT...Canadian Womens Pool Tour...

It seems Terri might have finally popped into the top 10 of Women's 9 Ball in Canada....

well done and we hope she keeps on going....

Based on recent form, Terri should be in the top 3 in Canada. When she won the NYS Championship she pretty much dominated including an easy win over Anita Kuczma in the finals. I don't know too many of the Western Canadian ladies but i dont think there is anyone in the East playing her speed right now.

Nostroke:

I'm going to be a name dropper...here are some of ladies from the West that play better then average in no special order...Maryann McConnell, Joanne Ashton, Kathie McDonald, Cathy Metzinger, Mona Remedios and Claire Schram.

In recent years it seems that some of the better players are coming from Quebec. They are in no particular order again...Miriam Lafranchise, Nathalie Jacob (not sure of local) and Catherine Garon.

It should be fun following Terri ....

bye for now....Wayne

I HAVE SEEN AND PLAYED WITH TERRI MANY OF TIMES AND THINK THAT SHE IS EASILY TOP 3 IF NOT TOP 2 IN CANADA. I AM A SEMI-PRO PLAYER IN MY OWN RIGHT, SO I AM NOT JUST TALKING OUT OF MY ASS. I KNOW A GOOD PLAYER WHEN I SEE ONE.

Hey Wayne

I know about half of those ladies and none of them are in Terri's class IMHO- One of them is in fact at least the 6 ball under Terri if Terri's recent form is indicative of her overall play. NO names of course and perhaps the ones i do not know of are stronger.

I guess you are only including up and commers as you left out Hsin Huang who is a bit erratic but has a very high gear when she gets it going and certainly one of the West's best.

Hsin Huang was a Canadian 8 Ball Champion, NWPA Regional Champion and National Regional Tour Champion. She also came 4th twice (BCA 9 Ball Championship and WPBA Canadian Classic) last year playing on the WPBA tour. She just beat Kelly Fisher in the WPBA US Open last month.

Hsin is a Canadian resident in the process of getting her citizenship. She is living in Vancouver, BC full time.

The only Canadian player on the list that I have really paid attention to is Miriam. She was a very young, talented, and natural player. I really like her game.

Duobis - do you think that Terri has turned the corner on her career??

Nostroke - I didn't know that Hsin Huang was Canadian..saw her play in once (think it was Windsor)..and I agree with your assessment of her speed..in that event she tired on Saturday night...Saturday's are long in the WPBA format...

Richard - you seem to be right on top of info abour Hsin...when Steve Tipton introduced her at the event - he didn't mention Canada...when did she move to Canada...and when she won the 8ball Championship it must have been an Open competition...

I may have started this thread but you guys have way more info...thank you all very much...

btw - nice interview with Terri in Shooterville.com under player profiles...

thx gentlemen for all your insight...much appreciated....

Hsin Huang won the Canadian 8 ball championship in 2000. She was allowed to play because she was a landed immigrant in Canadian. Paul Thornley had written an article on Hsin Huang on the Chalk and Cue magazine when Hsin came forth in the WPBA Canadian Classic held in Windsor.

I am looking forward to seeing Hsin Huang playing in the Canadian 9 ball championship may be next year or so.

Do you have a picture of Terri? I am not sure if I have seen her play before.

Thank you.

She looks a bit like Jodie Foster Richard but i doubt that you will recognize her. I never laid eyes on her before the NYS Championships a couple of months back.

It is my understanding that she was just returning to pool after a 3-yr layoff. I believe she is another converted snooker player. I am certain we will be hearing more from her shortly.
