Well I guess I just was not into it tonight. We are a mid level team and we were playing the far and away number one team. I guess that just got into my head and I figured that I shouldn't win so I didn't. I didn't think through my shots. Probably one of the worst night of pool I have had in quite some time. I think it will be time for some lessons soon.

Been there, will be there again. Mental game may be harder than the physical. Frustrating, keep at it you'll have better nights.

At least after a bad night of pool you still wanna play...I had a team mate on a league that would "quit" every other week because of an off night...one night he was being all butt hurt about loosing and offered his cues to just about everyone near the pool tables for $50 because he was done playing and what not...I was glad when someone bought them lol....

i get my share of terrible nights lol.

last week playing i beat a 5 38-11 in 10 innings " 5 were safties ". i am 5 also.

this week i played a 2. lost 14-20 in about 30 innings. never been hooked so many times in my life. must have given her bih about 6 or 7 times.:o and when i could see the object ball never had a decent shot or a safety.

i just forget about them and move on to the next night.

Event
Reaction
equals
Outcome

Your reaction to what transpired during the event determines if you will grow as a player. A positive reaction of learning from the mistakes such as your frame of mind, shot selection, and/or pressure will make the outcome a learning one. Sometimes we have to act as a neutral 3rd party on our own behave breaking down our play with the truth. Become as analytic as you can. Nothing tests your game more than the battle itself and how you react during that battle.

Now on the other hand if your reaction is excuses, anger, or just plain giving up I don't care then nothing moves you forward. Sometimes this reaction can start slumps as it is a confidence killer.

Make your reaction a positive no matter how bad a beating you took because in the end your game will improve. That is the outcome all of our games need.

Every one has had those nights. Shit most of my nights are those nights . You still enjoy the game and sounds like you recognized where you might improve next league night. Keep at it

The team victory is whats most important. But I realize that though the scores are cumulative, it's really an individual sport and regardless of how good their team is, on any given night I only have to be better than the person I'm playing whether that person is a 1 or a 9 (or a 2 or a 7). I can coach, loan chalk or tools, buy drinks, or whatever, but I can only execute for me and only when I'm at the table. Other than that it's all about the prayer. I submit that it's very difficult to find an entire team that is committed to winning.
