For Sale: 2 Custom Made Table Saw Tapering Machines for Cue Making. 1 Shaft and 1 For Butt Tapering.
I just got back from Mich where I had some intensive machining performed for a new CNC Baseplate, and fixtures fabricated at a custom Machine/Race Car shop. All of these components are shipped and on the way to my shop to be mounted on a Grantry Frame I have.
So, I am putting up for sale my 2 Table Saw tapering machines here in Vegas.
These Machine are fine tuned top performers and work perfect.
The Shaft Machine has a custom Gravity Feed Steady rest system i designed that produces shafts that have very very slick RMS surface finish using a weighted Teflon Bullet device that spins while it rides on top of the shaft giving the exact down force to over come the tool/blade push off eliminating the dreaded ossilation in the center area. At finish size the shafts only need a very light touch of 600 aluminum oxide Sandpaper to open the finish for applying the sealer.
There is also a custom designed tail stock fixture with a totally adjustable spring loading gadget that let's you dial in the pressure on the shaft between centers perfect every time at different lengths. Everything was custom machined. Both machines are wired where you can walk up to them, adjust the dial indicated Z elevation, turn on the machine and walk away. They stop automatically after each cycle. Very efficiency robots working for you that don't get paid. LOL
The butt Machine does not have a gravity rest feature because the thicker diameter does not require this level of tweaking.
Both machines are equipped with plexiglass dust tunnels and have 4" suction with blast gates to keep everything tidy. These systems work very well.
I would like to sell them as a package deal with the 2 grizzly table saws. Both these Saws have been modified with harmonic balancers on the blades, anti vibration drive belts on the motors and floor anti vibration floor pads on the feet. All that could be done to reach for the highest apple on the tree has been implemented.
Each Machine has 2 Anahiem Automation DC Motors and individual controllers. I worked with their engineering staff and sourced the exact and correct motor/gear box set ups that have the exact torque and speed adjustments for this activity. These motors can work all day and are only Luke warm to the touch. Super efficient.
I am not a production cuemaker and these units will perform for the next 20 years in my opinion without a glitch.
The Shaft machine has 2 thin Freud 80 Tooth Triple Chip Blades that have been flat top ground and produce a superior finish with the speeds and feeds dialed in and Gravity Feed Stead Rest custom fixture is the icing on the cake.
The butt Machine has 2 thick very heavy 60 tooth Atlas blades. They cut silver and other material very efficiently. I know many CMs who install their silver at final dia size and file before up sanding and polishing because their router sometimes pulls out the inlays. I install my inlays .010 to .015 oversize and just let my blades do their thing at a very slow travel speed. I have never had a Silver strips or inlays fail because the saw is more forgiving. IMO
I have invested a lot of time, money and effort tweaking and getting these machines to their current state and proficiency.
$ 7500.00 for both Machines and will be happy to discuss all details concerning a sale to serious CM indiviuals with cash only. So this is not going to be some fire sale or bargain basement deal. if they dont finfd a new home i will continue to use them myself.These units are top performers. They will become available soon , so I can transition my shop.
The reason I am selling is because I have a very small shop and these machines require 60 sq ft of floor plan. I have set up a third bedroom in my house as a cnc room. If I remove these two machines, I can place my new CNC platform back in the shop. My daughter is moving to Vegas and it would be nice to have a guest bedroom.
They will be sold here in Vegas for pickup only with the table saws. They should both fit in a pick up bed with some tie down ratchet straps for safe travel.
If you are a serious potential buyer give me call for more info. I will only sell them as a package deal, and won't separate them.
If you are a new cue maker, the amount of saved time and effort from buying both these machines is incalculable concering your learning curve to produce flawless shafts and butts. These are production monsters!
