Sorry, but twinkie refers to those asians who are "yellow on the outside, white on the inside."

In other words, a Twinkie only appears Asian, are nominally Asian, but does not count as a "real" Asian. The word is usually derogatory within the Asian circle.

Not anywhere I've seen. Times have changed. Just as "nigga" is accepted among most black people, other certain once "deragatory" names are used endearingly amongst other minorities. Of course, when used derogatorily, offense is taken.

My cousin, sister, and I greet each other with "what's up, chink/gook/twinkie", and our best friends are Betty Cracker (who is white) and Border Jumper (she's mixed with Mexican).

You don't have to use it in a derogatory fashion. All you have to do is SAY it and be of another race or nationality and with all of the bullshit political correctness freaks out there, it's only a matter of seconds before somebody jumps on your ass and starts making a mountain out of a molehill.

Happens here all the time. Fact is...if I would have said what you just did, I'd be PERMENANTLY BANNED without any explanations as soon as it was visible on a post!

You missed my point. You said that "twinkie" referred to "someone who is mixed with Asian and white," which I assume means biracial individuals such as yourself. But Twinkie, at least in every Asian circle I've been in (Northeast, California) refers to those who are 100% ethnically Asian, but metaphorically "white" on the inside. In other words, they look yellow, but act/think white: hence a Twinkie.

I understand the evolution of the N word; in fact I've posted on this subject not long ago. If you're equating the supposed change in "Twinkie" to "Nigga" I'm afraid I disagree.

I'm saying that the original intention of the N word has been incorporated into the black community (to a large extent) and subsequently eclipsed, whereas the origins of Twinkie remains the same and in this case, you are simply using it incorrectly.
