Testing Your Stroke

Here's a situation where a player can test their stroke. The scenario is, playing 1 pocket, you have the upper left pocket, You need both balls. The cue ball is frozen on the long cushion at the 3rd diamond, 9 ball is on the spot and the 15 ball is frozen on the 1st diamond by your opponent's pocket. You have to run the 2 balls by "Following" the cue ball 1 cushion and land within the square of that first diamond, to pocket the 15! I actually, hit the this shot TOO good and almost scratch!

the hardest part for me is the cue ball is frozen to the rail so i cant get as much spin AND the cue goes deflects alot with spin when the cue ball is frozen to the rail

It's a rough shot to do, but can be done. You need more spin on this then anything. The guy doesn't even put much follow through in his stroke he has more of a jab then anything.

Zerk, the Title of this thread is, Testing Your Stroke! Not Testing Your English/Effect.

There are '2' different strokes that can be applied to execute this difficult position shot.

BTW, You answered bbb's question and might not even know it.

i disagree Zerksies
mr3c stroke is beautifully smooth with a relatively long follow thru
watch it in slo motion if you dont believe me
there is no "jab" that i can see

I believe part of getting this result is that you're shooting down on the CB a bit and it ends up airborne going into the first rail.

Lets see YOUR video Lou. I'm always looking to learn.

NO substitute pitchers from CO. LOL!

oh, so it’s airborne after all, lol.

Look, Bill, all I’m saying is that this shot is not so much about testing your stroke as it is about testing your knowledge. It’s a shot that probably comes up more at 9ball than 1pocket and most 9ball players know it. I’ve shot it plenty of times and have no need to video it — it’s just not that big a deal.

'I" never said the CB was airborne.

A picture is worth a1,000 words. Video is worth 10,000! Anyone can spew words!

You're Half correct, nothing new. It is more about knowledge, the knowing of the 'Proper Stroke' to apply to this shot.

No, your video said it was airborne for you, so there’s your 10,000, lol.

Anywhos, I just propped up a trash can on an adjoining table at the PR, leaned my phone on it and shot it on a Diamond a few minutes ago.

Made it on the first try. I’ll post the clip when I get home.
