I just want to say thank you to all you guys here on the Mechanic forum for all your questions and answers that you have submitted here on the forum because they have been invaluable. I own an American Heirloom Georgian 6 leg (Gandy in disguise) a good looking table but really challenging to play on (spits balls at you like Artie Bodendorfer spits on Cops) but reading all of issues and answer here has help me tame her. A Gandy was never created to play like a GC or a Diamond Pro but it was a nice attempt to make a better than average home table and just below GC and Diamond at a reasonable price and it worked. When I had it recovered by Scott of Southern Billiards (super nice guy) I had him put on the 3/16" neoprene with a duro rating of 60 facing that RealKingCobra and n10spool had spoke of and he took my rails back to his shop for a few days which was just the amount of time that I needed. I got out my 40 year old 1/2" chuck craftsman grinder and went to work putting a 1/2" bevel in the corner pockets because IMO the shelf was just way to deep. I finished off corner pockets with some 80 grit sand paper (smooth as a baby's bottom) and no more ball rattling for me. I got the idea when I saw the bevel on a GC4's or GC5's at my local room when the tables were being recovered. My pockets are not buckets by any means it just plays like a GC now which means that it is very well behaved. Thank you guys for all of your input here.
