A little while back I posted a question about cutting shafts, and a couple issues I was having with the shaft having little "steps" on it after a pass.
With the advice I got here, and a little trial and error, the shafts are cutting very smooth with no steps or "barber poling".
It seems the problem was I was cutting "up hill" on the taper bar on my Deluxe, and the spring loaded slide was sticking a little here and there, then it would release leaving a step.
I am now cutting "down hill" on the taper bar, and having no problems.
I just wanted to thank everyone who has helped me with this, and other problems and solutions.
It's an over due thank you, but a well deserved one. If it wasn't for the wealth of knowlege here in this forum, and the people who so graciously help those of us who need it, I would be still scratching my head about different things and problems I was having.
