Just arrived in Virginia Beach.

Not to inject anything negative, but I do want to make a Public service announcement, and urge caution, especially for those of you driving in from out of state:

Driving 80+ mph in Virginia is considered reckless driving and is a criminal offense! The maximum fine is $2500 and can include jail time!

On my way here I was pulled over on I-295. I expected a speeding ticket or warning and got a summons to appear in court! The speed limit was 70 and the cop said I was doing 83.

Prior to today, I had a spotless driving record (have driven over 300,000 miles!) Now I have to hire a lawyer and will probably pay hundreds in fees & fines.

Virginia residents are probably aware of this law, but it really caught me by surprise! So be careful.
