Bank Shot - a shot that is so simple to make, you can "bank" on it going in

Combination - games in which rules from two or more other games are combined, for example, eight ball in which you must still run your balls in numerical order

Diamond System - a method of lining up shots, so accurate that it is as valuable as "diamonds"

Drag Shot - similar to automobile drag racing, this is a contest between two players before a match, to determine who gets the break (whomever can bank the cue ball down the table and back the quickest wins)

Follow - a technique for multi-rail banks and kicks, in which the player runs around the table, following the ball on its path

Foot Spot - a handicap in a gambling match in which one player allows the other player to violently stomp on one of his feet prior to the match

Foul - see the Bar Rules thread for the world standardized rules concerning fouls

Frozen - when a player takes so many practice strokes that he forgets what we was planning to do, or even where he is at the moment

Head Spot - a handicap in a gambling match in which one player agrees to ingest a powerful narcotic, bash his head against the wall, or otherwise impede the normal workings of his head

Jump Shot - stroking the cue ball while jumping off the floor

Kick Shot - while stroking a shot, the player kicks one foot up in the air

Kiss Shot - A sharking technique in which the non-shooting player lays a smooch on the shooter's nearby girlfriend or wife

Masse Shot - a type of shot invented by pro pool player Mike Massey

Push - a shot in which the player uses his hands to "push" and object ball into a pocket when the opponent is distracted

Reverse English - sidespin imparted to the cueball which magically reverses while rolling down the table (for example, right-hand english becoming left-hand english)

Run Out - what one does from the pool hall when asked to play a set by someone calling themself "Cesar Morales"

Running English - when a player addresses the cue ball from several feet away, often from clear across the room, and proceeds to "run" up to the ball and strike it with english (a la Happy Gilmore)

Safety - when a straight-in shot is struck with a hard stroke, but the object ball rattles from the pocket, goes six rails, and becomes hidden from the cue ball

Squirt - that eight year old who seems to hustle and beat everyone in the pool hall

Stun - a reaction to your opponent slopping in the nine ball

Throw - what poorly disciplined players do with their cue after a bad roll or lost game
