I don't know where you read that they were adding $5000. That wasn't what I read.

This is not $5000 added it is $5000 Guaranteed Total Prize Money.
The Guaranteed Pay Outs are as follows
1st - $2000
2nd - $1250
3rd - $750
4th - $500
5th & 6th $250
Player Auction as well
Bear has mentioned that if we have a full field (128 players) he may add a little more and pay more places.

By the way, is it true that Jerry Brock has an action match with a popular Louisiana player? If so, are any details available. If this is true, I think this match could be one of the most popular matches of the year.

Joey, thanks and when I talked to Gabe day before yesterday he said that he may come in as early as Mon or Tues to play Cliff another set of 1 Pocket. Also, we talked to Don Stevens and he said he would probably bring Larry Nevel down.
As far as I know, yes Brock is supposed to play an Action Match with the popular Louisiana player but nothing is set in stone at this time.
Update on Schmidt, he said last night that he would probably not play in the tournament but would more than likley be here for some 1 Pocket Action.
Clint and Cliff are supposed to match up playing 1 Pocket and there was talk about them playing 9 Ball on the Bar Table also.....so, who knows!!
Did Gabe make it there yet?
No not yet...we talked to him on Monday and he said he would be here late Thurs or early Friday.
I'm sure it is going to be a $5,000 GUARANTEED, not a $5,000 added tournament, just like the first one.
They had over 90 players in their first tournament and a very nice sized Calcutta. Action was had by anyone willing to step up to the plate and provide a fair game. :wink:
I don't know if I will go every month but in spite of getting knocked out by my two road dogs (who also didn't come in the money) I will probably be returning to play in future tournaments.
I really like the way the bar tables are laid out in a straight line. There isn't much foot traffic to get in the way of the players. Also the parking lot in the shopping center was HUGE. Surprisingly, there were lots of nice looking Bama Girls there too, not that I was paying much attention to them.:grin:
Bear & Joe put on a good show in all regards, however the Angus Steak Burger was only so-so.
