Sure. Funny thing is that in 8-ball with the professionals, I don't think the safety break works. Against amateurs, sure it would work. But, then again, anything works against us amateur.
I've got a tape of Wade Crane, a big breaker, breaking softly after gettin to the hill. He left a huge cluster in the middle. Jimmy Fusco, a great all-around professional easily ran it out, barely nudging balls, driving through the obstacles, and picking the balls off like cherries on a tree. Or something like that.
