>>>Before I start, this thread is NOT to bring up bad memories, but to have a look into the psyche of pool and the players, AND I can't find any real interesting threads this morning

I was just reading a thread about the Miz and Jay gave us a little look into the past explaining when the Miz started slowing down. Here's what Jay wrote: Earl finally broke him down with back to back wins at Caesars Tahoe and then Reds. Miz was never quite the same after those two losses in final matches. That's when he started getting bigger and bigger. The bigger he got, the more his game slipped.
My question is about that very moment in a top players career when you know they will never be the same, and why it happened? I know my teacher lost a finals match to Mike Sigel by only a few balls....like 197/200
He was heart broken and those that know him say he was never the same player after that.
I know Jim Rempe was different after a few losses to Karen Corr in events up here in the northeast tours.
What top players have you all noticed this phenomenon from? or is it just the natural progression of things?
ALSO, on the flip side...what was the very moment you KNEW a player was gonna be a killer?
