Started out in life playing with a 13mm shaft. last 20 years I've been playing with 12.75-12.5. I wanted to try lower, like 12mm. I play with a Joss with a standard maple Joss shaft. So I ordered a 12mm shaft from the Poolcueshop on Ebay. I get the shaft and it's fatter than my 12.5 that I have been using for long time. I get some calipers and it's 13mm. I go shoot with it and I absolutely love it. The hit is softer? More mellow maybe, not as stiff as 12.5. And I feel it moves the cue ball a little easier. Not much, probably just in my head, but wouldn't you know. I'm like George Costanza from Seinfeld. Whatever I think, I should do the opposite. The shaft I wanted wasn't the shaft I got and the shaft I didn't want, but got, is the shaft that turns out I like the best. Figures........
