Its very much trial and error with this I've found. I tend to play it about 2 inches from the side rail two tips low on tip outside English with my aim on the 1 ball trying to make it in the corner pocket. It sends the 1 past the side pocket and the CB should return back to centre table. Its very successful in pocketing a wingball.
It does depend of the rules you are playing. If 3 balls have to go up table then its not worth doing it because you have to input more power and the CB becomes unreliable.
