the dirty and the best

..in this city which is not in the States theres umpteen pool halls. But the thing is, I've played around and this one small place upstairs definitely is the dirtiest and smokiest but the thing is it has the best players.

So anyone else find a similar thing happening. The low down dirty rooms having the best shooters?

And they don't have the best tables either.

I've traveled around a bit, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to which places will have the better action and better players. Around here the nicer, cleaner, more expensive pool hall is where the action is, but I have been to many cities where the opposite is true.

It was funny for me because I was in inner city after a restaurant lunch and walked to a nice pool place with carpet, nice tables..they even retipped my cue for me just because ...and destroyed a guy twelve - three. Then I taxi downtown to a place I call 'Dirtys' and this guy nails me, nine -two before I come back and his friend Li Gung just about runs out everything.
Its like there seems to be a hub where the best players go and bond irrespective of playing conditions. Personally, I think its the nature of the manager that brings it all together.
But that place is freaky, its like a nucleus and if its not someone, its someone else who picks up the cue and proceeds to demonstrate what theyre about.
This real gang mentality.

Obviously, this thread should not exist for five minutes without mention of Broadway Billiards in New York City. I mean, it's up in the air how good the players are (though at times, they can get quite good) but it's definitely the dirtiest by far!
