The ghost ball!

Ghost Ball thoughts.. or what it is

I have been working on ghost ball aiming the last few days. After getting used to it, it is now dialed in better than any other aiming system I have tried.

I used to use CTE and contact point aiming. After working with Mark Wilson's book I switched to ghost ball. Not because he recommends it, but because it is the most natural system to incorporate all the other "must haves" in his orthodox stroke.

In order to complete the proper stroke from very early PSR and stance to the finish I need the shot line. Chin lock on that shot line from the PSR through getting down on the table. Any system that requires a sweep falls out of that category.

contact point to contact point wasn't working. So back to ghost ball.

I spent about a half hour (that was all) setting up a ghost ball on each shot. I would remove it before shooting but I wanted to see how they really collided to go in the pocket. After that, visualizing it was fairly simple.

I find that using the dot on the felt the best method. Why? The dot does not change when you change the CB position. For example, If I am shooting a ball on the spot with CB somewhere at the opposite end of the table, I can stand behind the OB in line with the pocket. Focus on where the dot would be and then move behind the CB with my shot line in tact. I can check my work by following that shot line through the ball to see if it all adds up. If yes, I plant myself down on the shot line and follow the cue straight down that line.

accuracy is up considerably.
TBS, there are a few shots where other things work better. cut shots with OB on the rail or near the rail, or any very thin cut, Edge to edge still seems to work better.

I do not find the replacement disc nor contact point (which I think supports steering).

I am curious if others have any techniques to build on what I am doing.
