The GSBT and Nick Varner Cues & Cases Present The North Carolina Open. The main event drew 45 players- including 13 free entries given to 4 ladies and 9 military. Notable players in the field include Larry Nevel, Keith Bennett, Tony Morrision, Jared Mcgee, Eddie Little, Robert Ray, Alan Mixon, & Ski Bo, & Shannon Daulton. Round 1 play started at 3:30 and updates will follow.
 
Just wanted to give kudos to Marge and Shannon. They are the nicest people you will ever meet and they run a great tournament... I would recommend giving it a shot to anyone that has a chance to play in one.

King Street Billiards in Fayetteville NC is a really nice pool room too, 5 brand new diamonds and 10 other Gold Crowns with plenty of room between tables. They've got a great kitchen too... If you're ever in the area you should check it out.

Feel free to wish me luck against Larry Nevel tomorrow too :D
I'm going to have to run a lot of racks to win that match...

Tournament play is over but playin' pool is not. This room is packed!!!! Some highlights of today.... Eddie Little bested Shannon Daulton 9-7 and Brandon Pureza sent Keith Bennett to the one-loss side also by a score of 9-7. Good shootin' guys!!! The final 16 in the tourney are:

The GSBT has started a points system for the 2008 season. We will be paying the top 16 (CASH & PRIZES) at the end of the season. The top 16 earn points for finishing in events.

1st 300 points
2nd 250 points
3rd 200 points
4th 150 points
5/6 100 points
7/8 75 points
9-12 50 points
13-16 25 points
17 & below 10 points

Also, the top points finisher in the ladies & juniors category will recieve a Reeves Custom Cue designed by Larry Nevel.

Oh yeah, tell Shannon that I talked to a ranger sniper about the rifle he's looking at, got some pretty good info. I'll try and call ya'll sometime later this week.
