"The Great Wave"

Our customer approached us some time ago with a simple request, to build his dream case! This build represents the confluence of countless hours of planning, preparation, practice, and, finally, execution. Many components of this build pushed our creativity and design.

The main body of this case is the belly of an 11' Wild American Alligator, accented by premium Italian veg-tan displayng 'inlays' of natural ring lizard and a customized stamp pattern. It features, prominently, on the front pockets our interpretation of Hokusai's masterpiece 'The Great Wave of Kanagawa.'

This case got all the bells and whistles, and then some! The 8" and 16" wraparound pockets are lined with pig skin suede and feature internal compartments of Napa lamb. The removable backpack straps are lined with supple vachetta and boast plush shearling shoulder pads. The handles are contoured and wrapped tightly in white pigmented veg-tan. In addition, there is a signature stitch ring at the rubberized base, ring lizard inside the lid, solid brass hardware, red YKK zippers, and a red 2 x 5 JB Ultrapad interior.

Everything is saddle stitched, in red, by hand.

Thanks for looking!

Fantastic
Thank you!
Masterfully executed, what a beautiful example of your attention to detail!!
Appreciate the kind words, Al! We really marvel at your attention detail, so man, that really feels good!

A ton of time was spent sourcing the alligator, but we ended up with a really fantastic hide. Along the way, I did touch base with a fellow who told me stories of spreading out gators skins in Jack's living room. He still has the templates used to gauge hides for Jack's projects.
