Great news! Dawn Hopkins and the JAB Tour have teamed up to arrange the JAB Junior 9-Ball Tour. For the first season, there are four events scheduled that are listed below. Each of these events will also be a qualifier for the Billiard Education Foundations (BEF) Junior National Championship (formerly the BCA Junior National Championship). There will be an 18 & under division and a 14 & under division at each event. The winner of each of the 4 qualifiers in each division will win a spot to compete in the Junior National Championship. The Junior National Championship is also a qualifier to the Junior World Championship! So here is your stepping stone to the stars!
EVENT #1
Where: The Green Room Billiards, 3891 Rt. 73 S., Maple Shade, NJ 08052 phone (856)482-2227 or Jose urgos (267)257-8006
When: February 10, 2007. Doors open at 9am and players meeting is at 12:30pm.
Format: 9-Ball, double elimination, races to 7 on winner’s side, race to 6 or 7 on one loss side (based on field size). Rotate break
Entry Fee: $20 ($15 for BEF membership and $5 to go toward end of the season trophies) Send entry fee to The Green Room Billiards.
Awards: Winner of each event will earn a spot in the BEF Junior National Championships. Also prizes will be given.
EVENT #2
Where: Super Billiards Expo, Valley Forge Convention Center, King of Prussia, PA
When: March 17-18, 2007, Players meeting at 10am on March 17th.
Format: races to 4, 2 out of 3 sets, single elimination. Rotate break, pro rules
Entry Fee: Because this event is held in conjunction with the Super Billiards Expo Junior Players Championships, it is $25 entry for the Junior Players Championship and an additional $15 if you choose to be eligible to win the Junior Nationals qualifier.
THIS EVENT DOES SELL OUT so please forward your entry fee for the Junior Players Championship ($25) in advance to Allen Hopkins Productions, P.O. Box 325, Absecon, NJ 08201 and include your name, address, phone number and date of birth with your check made payable to Allen Hopkins Productions. If you choose to also be eligible for the Junior Nationals qualifier, include and additional check made payable to Billiard Education Foundation for $15.
Equipment for this event only: Diamond 7' tables, simonis cloth, aramith balls
Players meeting: Saturday, March 17th 10am (must pre-register) you will receive a confirmation letter with more details.
Prizes: A separate scholarship will be donated for first place in each division of $1,000. There are also prizes donated by the exhibitors and great trophies given for 1-4th place in each division.
