The Hero that feels like an Idiot

I'll put this up here. I guess it has happened to most everyone, but you can have your laugh on me this time.

Last night at league (bar box 8 ball) my opponent broke and didn't make anything. I stepped up and gathered my plan. A good plan, I figured I could go out. Played the first shot, made it but the cue ball rolled about 6 to 8 inches to far. Plan B, I now only had one shot available, a long tough cut to the corner. I made it, but again missed position leaving myself only one shot and it was tough. This happened four more times. Every shot got harder and harder. Now working on plan G I finally play a thin cut to the side pocket playing perfect position on the 8 ball to the other side pocket which was the only pocket available for the 8. I make the 8 and the team goes nuts cheering. You see the rest of my team just didn't understand how poorly I had played position throughout the entire rack. I got a big cheer even from the opposing team. After things quieted down and the next game started I finally sat down in my seat beside my best friend Ken. Ken leaned over and whispered, "Just the way you planned it, right? Great rack". You see Ken was the only other player there that knew exactly what just happened. We both laughed vary hard.

Did you swear him to secrecy and offer a bribe?

Didn't have to. As I mentioned above, 'this has probably happened to everyone' and it has definitely happened to Ken LOL

Hi Captain! Do not feel too bad as playing position is a real hard thing to do! It is whats seperates us from the PROS, this comes easy for them, while we have to work at it! :)

Cap'n,

I have seen Jeanette Lee run a couple of racks like that. She is fearless and agressive and a great shotmaker. That's why I like her.

i broke a rack of 9 ball the other night, and unbelievably made 4 balls on the break. but, just my luck, had a very tough shot on the first ball. as a result had a tough shot on the next ball, etc, etc. i ran out the rack, but everyone of the shots was tough, was very fortunate to get out.

as Ralf Souquet says "9 ball can be a very cruel game"
