the hit

I now play with a fury sneaky with a z2 shaft. I want to buy a MNw.,o
U balabushka remake the gb 22. Wkgdhich is probably the MOST attractive cue i have ever seen (in my opinion) and you can order it with a z2, ob2, 324_2 or katana shaft.

Here is the question. What gives a cue a good hit? The joint? The shaft? The tip? A combination?

If you take a butt of a cue with an adjustable weight 5/16-14 pin joint and put a top production shaft and tip on the cue in theory it should play just as good as any other.

Bottom line is my hypothesis true our false?

What !SPECIFICALLY! About a cue gives it a good solid hit?

Thanks AZers.

All of the above

Nice traditional cue your looking at. E answer is all of the above. I'm no cue maker, but I can tell you that I have several high end cues and have the same shafts and same tips on those shafts and they all have unique characteristics when it comes to the hit. They all play the same. But, they make slightly different noise, and feedback on the hit.

I feel like you need to separate the hit into 2 categories...the hit, and the feel

So I'd say that the playability is mainly in the shaft and tip/taper, etc. ...and the noise and feedback/feel is mostly shaft, but influenced by the butt.

To answer your question, since I play wih 314 1st gen pred shafts, I could screw a similar shaft on any garage sale cue and probably not be able to identify it from my high end cues if blindfolded.
