I decided to watch Color of Money the other night. I may not have seen it maybe once since it came out. I remember going with a bunch from the pool room to a matinee when COM came out. We hated it. Now the other night I settle in to watch it again over 30 years later and I hated it even worse. In fact I only got through maybe 20 minutes and my skin was crawling at everything about it.

The Tom Cruse performance may have been the worst of his career, and that is saying a lot because he can be pretty bad. Either way, they are on youtube and I am sure some will enjoy it.

I enjoyed it. Not surprised you didn't like it.
 
yep, credible method acting by paul newman beats tom cruise prancing around with the cue behind his head. it's not even close.

One of the main problems with the movie is, Tom Cruse has no back story at all. Who is he? How does it come that he can play pool like that? I am not sure we really know how old he is. His character has no real development beyond him becoming a pri$k.

For me, a back story is important in a movie character. Tom Cruse is a complete blank. Another thing, you have to care about the characters in a movie. Nothing connects you to them, not even Eddie. The whole movie is like an outline of another movie you are waiting to see that never shows up.
