Here's another leather case I just finished for a friend of mine. 3x6, 2 tone, tooled, with brass hardware. I put his name on the back, too.

Very nice.
I would like to see step by step pictures of the creation of cases, always have been curious how these are made.:)

I would LOVE to learn how to do something like that. I find the leatherwork/tooling/casebuilding particularly fascinating. Great job!

Very nice looking case.
The pictures in the photo album are very good.
Would like to see more as a case progresses through your manufacturing.

Your Case are looking real nice. Question are you Handsewing or Machine sewing your pouches on?

I have four more in various stages. I'll try to get some photos posted.

Right now I used an leather sewing machine. It's a Consew, and its built like a tank. I mean the machine itself weighs about 40lbs. That's really the only machine I use, beside a dremel tool I use with a jig I made for punching the rivet holes.

I have one that I hand sewed the pockets on, and I like the way the hand stitches look. It was another trial and error prototype, but I'l probably do another sometime soon. I be starting some saddle-type tooled cases this winter. I am working on patterns for those right now.

I think U are on the way to starting a Part Time Career in the Case Biz. Good Luck, and Never comprimise the quality of anything you put your name upon. Strive only to get better and better.

I'm curious about the construction of the outer shell of the case. Are you using formed PVC, Nylon, UHMW, or some other type of material? That seems to be the biggest mystery to me. I know you can buy extruded materials in an oval shape, but I was just wondering what you used and what is the most ecconomical, lightest, durable, etc.

tubes?

will you make a 3X6 with tubes separating the cue parts? cost with similar tooling to the case in the thread? thx

Thanks. I was going to hire some undocumented workers if I get too many orders... just kidding.

Sleuth, thanks for the compliments.

Yeah, the mystery will remain my secret weapon.... muuuhahahaha

I am looking into some thin structural material, but basically the structure is high density polyethene foam, and the leather itself. It not a "hard" case, like the Instrokes, but more like a semi hard case.

Economy? The extrusions are not cheap, that's for sure. I can't fit into a case that hand tooled and start them at $250. Maybe $350 or more, but the payoff period is way out there for how many I can make right now. I looked into clicker dies; eventually I'll get some. I have a guy who can press parts for me. It's the upfront cost, but they cut a lot of time out of the building equation, and add a lot to consistancy.

I am working on plans for cases with tubes. It won't be too hard, but it will weigh significantly more. Sometime soon I get one together and post it.
