The marvels of the Ignore List

Redundancy is the bedrock of most successful systems :).

Having the system there isn't a bad thing, if you want to use it, it's there. If you don't want to then you aren't forced to. The only person it will negatively impact is the person being ignored and well, I don't really care about that lol.

Everyone knows people in some way, through work, friends, etc that their mere existence just annoys the living hell out of you and you avoid that person because you don't want to be annoyed, you deal with them as little as you need to.

Ignore list:

The AZer's ultimate passive aggressive weapon of choice.

I'm guessing that the above statement will either be either funny or completely unfunny to most, no inbetween. :D

go to RSB and you'll get all the FL you can handle, I'm not sure who Harry is.

you can get to RSB (newgroup rec.sport.billiard) via google groups or via this site http://www.recgroups.com/

I can't imagine why you want to read FL and all his manifests personalities, but you'll find them all there. My block list on recgroups is about 30 or 40 ids long, most of them are FL and the rest are people who insist upon replying to totally insane posts. The guy is absolutely bonkers.

Right.

But you still like to read his posts just to tell everyone how stupid he is and how great you are.

Very interesting concepts. My little sub-routine online starts with trying to appeal to a poster's reason, and if that meets with poor results, I'll brush it off and hope things will improve. For the really egregious case, my little sub-routine on this forum goes a step further and is quite proactive. I wonder if you can guess what that entails? By the way, I've found that this step is unusually effective.

Flex

So effective, that Flex is still not ignoring me days after putting me on his ignore list. :D

This has me wondering how do you find out whose ignore list you're on? No since type replies to somebody not listening.

Leave a post for someone starting with "your momma so fat..." and see if they respond.

Another Zen koan of Western origin!

The fun part of being on "ignore" lists is talking behind Flex's back right to his face! :D

On another thread, http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=43034 the inimitable Mr. Hakala is taken to task by a good number of AZers. Fortunately, I've been able to avoid reading his frightful posts and can only chuckle at the responses he's been getting. For those AZers who've had enough of his abuse, just click on his screen name to go to his profile, and you'll find the delightful link where you can add him to your Ignore List...

Ignoring Ignore amos

I do not know if the technology allows such but I feel if you put someone on your ignore list they should also be prevented from posting on a thread which you started. Then in time we could put all the resident idiots on our ignore list. They could then have a jolly old time talking to each other. :( ;)

Not a bad idea. I'm sure somewhere in the PHP and backend MySQL database of vBulletin it would be possible to hack up.

What if what he says holds real value? Wouldn't it then be better to use it for personal gain vs. continued pretending that leads nowhere? What if what you hold as true is really false? Wouldn't you like to know? I would.

I'm getting value from Dhalaka on almost everyone of his posts. Course, one of my main processes is to first dismiss dishonesties and then integrate what's left into real valuable concepts. Then I do the same for those concepts and then it gets real interesting.

The more a poster challenges my thinking, the better. That's why I'm here.

I believe I challenge EVERYONE'S thinking...

Yanno!

I do not place even the most irritating posters on the ignore list I simply just refrain from clicking on a post that gets ridiculous like the one in question! yes its true that unfortunately there are some who only post to create controversy and perhaps see their words and ID's on the net! But I believe that even these folks sometimes either say something worthwhile or cause the commentors to their post to contribute worthwhile refrains! JMHO! :)
