The Masters 2012 !

Because you've seen him play how many times, exactly?

Meanwhile I have seen him play, and I've seen all the top snooker players both live and on tv going all the way back to the 80s as well, and based on what I've seen, if you put Alex up against just about all of them in a long match I promise they don't have to like it. Of course you will refuse to accept that, but your ignorance when it comes to comparisons between pool and snooker is well-documented on these forums. This is just another example.

Anyways, moving on. I think Ronnie's biggest problem is that he's just not hungry to win any longer. He's won tons of titles, buckets of cash, and he has a happy life. As such the pro circuit just doesn't have the allure to him that it once did, and in fact he probably would rather hang out at home with his kids than show up at the matches, and it shows in his play. Maybe the new shrink will help, but so far it hasn't.

Firstly, make excuses all you like but Ronnie's been a bust flush for years - he knows and accepts it - others can't, sadly.

Secondly, give me a single shred of proof to back up your claims. Just one. In your own time. Perhaps you can think about it when you're practicing your 1000 roll ups, which are 'easy' in the heat of battle, apparently.

I'd suggest it's your ignorance that is 'well-documented' on these forums.

Murphy Magic

Since Mark took the NO.1 spot he hasn't exactly been pulling up trees but earlier when he had the 147 chance it might have been the boost he needed for the rest of the season. The result busted my Semi-Final's event predictor line up but fair play to Sean he played well.

The Final

The bookmakers have it :

Neil Robertson 8/11 , Shaun Murphy Evens .

My pick John Higgins took too many chances in the final few frames and I thought that's not like John to take on so many iffy pots instead of playing safe.Anyway when my selection gets beat I root for the guy who beat him but Neil Robertson has played really good all week and I think I will root for Neil.

Fancy a 147 in the final ?
The Bookmaker quote is NO 1/33 YES 3/1

Not a huge fan of either, tbh. Robertson's a classless oaf and there's something slightly unpalatable about Murphy - not sure what, though.

The WPBSA have to do something about Robertson's gamesmanship - it appears all the top players know they must play the game the right way - even Selby has quickened his step.

I wonder when pool will follow suit and consciously seek to speed up?

Anyone but an Englishman, eh?

Combine these players talents ;

1.John Higgins match play tactics.
2.Mark Williams aggressive safety play tactics.
3.Judd Trump's outrageous potting skills.
4.Stephen Hendry's century break skills.
5.Ronnie O,Sullivans natural left/right handed potting talent.
Do you agree that these are the ingredients for the perfect Snooker player ?

Shaun Murphy is a great player who loves the game but in the final I give the edge to Neil.

When Stephen Hendry played Jimmy White in the World Snooker finals , who do you think I rooted for ? Well I cheered for Jimmy White.
just too bad Jimmy never took the title but if they both made a comeback and made the World Snooker Finals I would be rooting for both players!

I always hated Steve Davis, and would support anyone who he played. Amazing to think he's quite a popular character now - he was despised back then, possibly a little unfairly in hindsight.

I don't mind Stephen Hendry now he's stopped winning everything. Us Brits don't like winners, that's for sure!

Hmm,
Well played Neil Robertson. When he went 5-3 up I thought is this another changing of the guard in the Snooker world ? Is Neil Robertson going to take over the mantle as best match player from John Higgins ? To reach 7 finals & win them all is some record. What a player.

I thought the Masters was a top tournament. The matches were great, the players were great, the venue was a bit special, the crowd were game but the best thing about it was reading all your views on this thread. It was excellent and well done to everybody who made a post and contributed to the The Masters 2012.:D:thumbup::cool:

Once again well played Neil Robertson.

Next stop:
The World Snooker Shootout Jan 27th/29th.:D:thumbup::cool:
