The mind is a strange thing.

Usually you hear of players talking about hitting a slump and how they think the mental part of their game is to blame.

I have not shot pool for at least 10 days, my allergies are so bad my head feels like it ways 100lbs and my left eye was almost swollen shut. I am in graduate school, I have a new born son and my wife is in the hospital with possible kidney failure.

With all that on my mind my pool game should be in the crapper. But within a 15 minute session just to take my mind off of my problems I was able to run 33 balls in straight pool and broke and ran two racks of 9ball. I felt confortable and in control. None of the runs were continued by good roles my position was spotless. I am shocked that I played this well considering the circumstances. The mind is indeed strange. I don't know when I will get to play again.
