new or old, seems quite a few pool players are turning to cards for action.i know here locally all the people that would play in a 5 dollar pool tournament, are sitting at a poker tournament/league night by night.me myself i'm not to shabby a poker player or pool player.but as far as enjoying one or the other its pool all the way.i have ADHD (for those that don't know what that is i'm a little on the hyper-active side)and playing cards drives me crazy when i'm not in a hand.there is a lot more to consider in cards which makes for longer hands at times.there is definately easier action and more action in poker, but i like pool more.what about you guys.

Its obvious that pool is dying big time. Its exacly what you said that great number of local pool players is now sitting at the same pool tables and playing cards. I have tried to get back those people to play a pool tournament, but forget it!
I think poker is much more fun than pool and its good mental excersise. I have been playing pool myself for 14 years trying to reach the top, but it didn't worked out, so its time to move one. For that matter poker is perfect oportunity.

Poker for the joy of winning money, pool for the joy of the game. When I go into a poolhall I know that if i play the locals for money there is a good chance of losing, but get them on a poker table and its a different story.

Lots of the Pool Players, around the Tulsa area, have gone to the Casinos. The big percentage of those folks can't afford to come to the Pool Hall or anywhere else...

I have never understood someone playing for big money in a game of chance, instead of a game of skill.

Good Luck to you folks, whatever you do...

Personally i cannot stand poker. It was mildly enjoyable until the whole poker craze started. Now everyone and their mom plays, plus i can't turn on the tv without seeing people playing cards...BORING. Oh and the fact that when i goto the store they carry no billiards magazines but about four different ones for poker. it's enough to drive me crazy :)

Poker is for losers that can't win at pool (no skill lazy people), most are the "TV Sceamers" that drink too much and have the idea watching football is a way to spend a Sunday afternoon :(

Pool players like the game for the mental skill, physical skill, and the opportunity to improve. Gamblers like any venue in which they think they have the upper hand. Pool players do not leave the game of pool --- it is the gamblers who leave looking for easy pickings.
