Will,
There are several Mach3 gurus here - Jim (MC3), Royce (OBCues), and others. But first you have to get set up. The default setup for Mach3 is using your computer's parallel port. That, in turn, means running WindowsXP or Windows7 (32-bit). I'd recommend getting a SmoothStepper - USB or Ethernet (preferred). It replaces the parallel port and either one runs MUCH smoother than a parallel port. And it allows you to run Windows7 (64-bit).
My 2 cents,
Gary

Hey Willee, nice to see you back. If you need any help with Mach just let me know.

Hey...........

do you have that cuemonster up and running yet???

lol

No I do not.
I only got half of it last Friday.
Not a story I want to get into right now but what I got is being returned to Unique Products for a refund ... we will see how that goes.

So ... I guess I am still looking for one.

Question for CNC gurus; Can a Bridgeport cnc mill do the same work (inlay pocketing) as a gantry type mill? Can you add a high rpm spindle to the Bridgeport Z?

Yes it can be. This is not done often as it way under utilizes the mill. Also it is just cheaper to build or buy a smaller one.

Jim.
