With the standardization of a new player rating system, leagues are primed up for tooling amateur players for the League "National Championship."
This system is going to save pro pool because everyone paying league fees adds up to pro pool prize money heaven. STOP RIGHT HERE.
That league money has to change multiple hands before being submitting to prize money.
The BS chant of saying more leagues and more unification is getting dangerously close to blind submission.
Pro events run separate from league events because different rules and standards. There are pro events sponsored by leagues. But a majority of the main events are independent of leagues.
Pro events are comparable to the state fair while league events are more like the local park with a free slide for everyone to ride.
Leagues help pool rooms stay in business. Pool rooms host tournaments. Sponsors help tournaments with prize money.
Instead of saying everyone needs to pay league fees, why not help the sponsors by making prize donations a form of charity, so the tax benefits are there.
I am not talking about a major corporation, I am talking about the people on the brochure that spend their money to sponsor an event.
People here demand more league fees directed towards franchise owners. If anyone wants to collect more money it should be the sponsors that have been paying into these events.
