The pros and 8-ball vs 9-ball?

How much experience do the pros have playing 8-ball on 9 ft. tables? Is it the case that they have mostly played 9-ball on 9 ft. tables, but 8-ball mostly on 7 ft. bar tables?

(Around here there are no 8-ball tournaments on 9 ft. tables. Only 9-ball tournaments.)

And is it the case with some pros that they have mostly played 9-ball and very little 8-ball?

Also I'm wondering if some pros will not be very good at 8-ball even though they might be quite good at playing 9-ball.

Around here, there are some players who can run rack after rack playing 9-ball, yet are not so good at 8-ball. A not too good of player can win against these players playing 8-ball.

And the opposite seems true. There are some exceptional 8-ball players around here who don't do so well when playing 9-ball.

i'm no pro,far from it.my first exp.with pool was 8 ball bar league.
i'm now practicing on the 9 fters. with 9 ball. i figured playing a rotation type game would help my position play.
i'm much better at 8 ball than i am at 9 ball.
i think each game has it's good and bad points.

if 9 ball didn't allow slop,it would be harder than 8 ball hands down, imo.
i sometimes lose shape in 8 ball but maybe luck into another shot and can get out.lose it in 9 ball and you're in trouble unless u hit it and slop something in.

in 8 ball u have more to navigate around, and that can be hard.

I wonder what 9-ball would be like without slop. I imagine that it would totally change the defensive game because you could play safe by pocketing the lowest ball (calling the wrong pocket), making it really easy to hide the CB from the new lowest ball. Maybe they'd have to make a rule that gives the incoming player the option to give the shot back, in the event of slop.
