Off the top of my head, part of the pool problem is it's so low res for the viewer. You need NASA gear to determine what's going on with a shot.
Wuddee do dere?
Uh I think he missed...

The Mosconi cup in particular features Parliamentary procedure instead of spectators.

I got an idea how the USA can win. Get Vito as the team captain. "You, play good or I break your fingers!" "You, play good and I break your fingers!"

Proper guidance for our team and friendly banter with the other team, all that is needed!

That sounds an awful lot like the Chinese athletes

"Gold medal or we ship you to a cellphone factory"

saddam's son in charge of the olympic team had the feet of runners beaten for hours the night after if they didn't run fast enough in practice to suit him.

The russians had their own methods. Nice villas and apartments for medalists and gold medalists, a lesser performance and a lousy apartment and I think job. They had a heavyweight weight lifter that gamed the government for years. They gave him roughly $1500 every time he broke the world's record. He raised it two pounds at a time for years! Two years after he retired from competition all the nice trappings were gone.

While I wasn't happy when the US put professionals in the olympics, we had been competing against professionals for decades. I would have preferred all countries having to quit using paid athletes, the US using pro's too did level the playing field

I used to watch all of the olympics I could. I didn't watch a single event in these olympics.

The power of cinema and film is strong. If there was a movie/documentary about pool gaining entry to the Olympics it has great elements.

Early US history, international conflicts, geopolitical tension and internal oppression of players. There is enough to form a movement, legal issues impacting players and interference of governing organizations.

A precursor to pool becoming an Olympic sport is a global consciousness that pool has been impacting global lives and continues to impact small businesses through global means.

The US doesnt have to dominate, just ensure pool in America is worth going to for training. The US leads in employment of pro athletes, pool is no different.

Commercializing pool would help make it popular. Skateboarding had several films, video games and events to grow. Pool is growing. Same with break dancing.
