i dont mind the tap league .....i wish the ralley was the following weekend or something i talked to alot of people involved with the sbe they all said the samething we changed the things cause of tap and its players anyone who has been going there for years will tell you it was better 5-8 years ago

I don't get it? Was there a issue between the tournament and the expo? You would think, they coincide for a reason? I'm sure the vendors look at it that way? Please do elaborate.

listen im not bashing the tap league ive played in tap have friends that play in it but before the tap you could play pool all night on the tables for 10 bucks now the tables down stairs are mostly used for the tap and sometimes they are not off them till 2-3 in the morning...also you could bring coolers into the expo before tap ...i sbe employee told me that was stopped because of people taking the drinking to far ...and the police being called to the sbe ..they never cared what we did down stairs ...the list of rules has been getting longer and longer every year ...i know that allen makes alot of money hosting the tap event i just wish they could do it the following weekend

ive went 4 years in a row and the tap league is always there and always uses the same grouping of tables i dont see how they make a difference besides adding more people to the action room, they could take the tap out and that group of tables what would the difference be?

OK, I follow you now. This was my first year going to the SBE. I also play TAP and I know a lot of the players that were up there that are from my area. I don't know how it was in the past but with the economy the way it is, I'm pretty sure the vendors are more then delighted to have that kind of draw to the event. The guys I know look forword to it every year, take time off work, rent rooms and it is nothing but flat out playing 24/7. It's like a marathon to them. Think I may in the mix next year, looked interesting. I'm sure it's a task to just to stay focused for that period of time. I'll give anything a try once.

I was gonna play in tap way back when but after sitting with some friends during match's at our local club I found out it's a bunch of sandbagging bull$hit. No thanks...

The tap league in my area is full of sandbaggers as well. The same team won three years in a row with the same 8 players. They even found a way to decrease their skill levels over that time. They once had over 50 teams now they are down to less than 20.

Let's face it, guys are going to find a way to cheat the system (regardless of what the venue) to try to get a advantage. I play both TAP and BCA. I think the scoring format in BCA is much better but either one sure beats APA. I had one of our stongest players drop off our team because he was disgusted that another team was under ranked. It's one thing to play someone heads up, that plays your speed, but to have to give up a game or two is indeed frustrating. I don't lay down for nobody for any reason. I bring what I got (good or bad depending on my stoke) but you know I'm there to win when I approach the table. It gives people heartburn but I look at it as a challange. If I'm playing someone who is laying down, I'll say something. Most the time they come back with "Man, I'm having a bad night...". I'm tempted to just safe their a$$ the entire night untill their night suddenly gets better but would rather just get the match over with and not drag it out. I have to get up in the morning for work and I could turn it into a very long night for everyone involved :boring2:.

I hear what your saying. There are bad apples in all walks of life, not just pool. See it for what it is and either deal with it accordingly or move on.
