The truth about Mezz shafts

So, I picked-up a Jacoby Edge Hybrid shaft for my Mezz EC7-P2 when I bought it a few years ago. With covid shutting everything down right after I received the cue, I have only now just begun playing again. I had never tried the Jacoby shaft, until last night. I remember one guy I spoke to saying that they make pretty much the best feeling/playing shaft you could imagine. I gotta say, that is one sweet playing shaft man. I don't know about LD properties really. Seems I get the same squirt from English on a full stroke power shot as any maple shaft. Maybe more than the standard WX700.

As for the cue cost thing, if it matters, the cost I mean, when I was first learning I once had a guy beat me while he was using the bottom end of a bridge - you know, that rubber thing? He got great stun, ok follow, and even some draw, which I still find very difficult to believe. LOL

But, this doesn't mean he would have gotten that good playing with one his entire life!!! The quality of the tip, shaft and cue matter. It simply isn't the most important factor. But it is VERY important if you are living with it every day. Does cost equate directly to quality? Uh, that'd be a no. But, they do tend to equate quite a bit, up to a point. Higher quality materials, built by high craftsman/artist? They're gonna generally expect more $ selling it.
