I know of another guy who has let them hold the cheque until he gets his number sorted, he had also booked a ticket to the UK so he could play in the next event in London too! :eek:

Oddly the advice of a few thousand threads ago still applies today.

Specifically on making sure people have their money upfront.

I thought this ties in well to the status of amateur pool in the US and the unresolved disaster of the USPPA.

Sometimes good advice loses to immediate financial need and promise.

Will the pros let amateurs get had with the same scheme? I think pros have a responsibility to let loose on the scams and tricks they have seen and tell amateurs.

What advice would pros give to amateurs on ensuring the legitimacy of the events they participate in?
