Going into the week before a important match up, what do you do? The match could be a gambling session you been dreading, a Vegas qualifier, league championship whatever is real important to you. I normally don't play anybody, and just throw out a few balls and hit 3-4 any order. Nothing missable and no one beating me causing myself to 2nd guess my confidence. and I pretty much do the same the day of the match at the playing site, at least until I play! And I always show up 2hrs early to acclimate to the room

Easier said then done, I know, but...don't worry about it.

If you feel like hitting some balls, hit some balls. If you feel like relaxing
on the couch, relax on the couch. A week before it way too late to improve
your game so I would try and get some table time in just to make sure the
arm is loosened up but that's about all I feel I have to do. I might play for
many hours in the week if I feel like playing, but if not, then not.

Try to enjoy the experience of the match aswell, jitters are fun. Find a way
to win, avoid finding a way to lose.

Regards, Dave

That's easy for me.

1. I never practice or learn anything new.
2. I try to play as much of the same game that is up coming.

I pretty much do 4 ball drills. I pick a pocket for each one to go into before I start the run. I also do 4 ball break shots. I try to focus on controlling the cue ball after the break with this. I put the 4 balls in a diamond shape and bust them up over and over. I think these two drills have helped me the best before any serious matchup. Be it League...money match...or tourney. Anything important to me.

I pretty much agree with what Double Dave said.
Also check you equipment a week before....ie you don't want to be doing a tip change the day before a big game if it can be avoided.
