I know there are plenty of posts asking which cues people prefer and love but lets get some opinions on which cues you've used that you would never buy nor use again.

I'm not about to slam anyone here, but I've shot with $2500 rattletraps, and $125 sweet hitting cues......Gerry

i know he will survive anything I could ever say,,,,,,

but i owned two tads(20 years old and long ago) that had absolutely DEAD hits. i couild get nothing on the cb. thought it was me until a really good player tried it and said the joint was dead.

rubino cues hit like broomsticks.VERY unsophisticated, VERY "unhewn".

hueblers feel bad just holding them.

Lucasi.......

Lucasi and Cuetec.

I had a Players that had a more firm feel and solid hit than a Muecci Hi-Pro!!!!!!

Bad Cues.................

I had interest once in a couple of beautiful P.M.cues about ten years ago i could have bought both for about a thousand dollars ( for both) but i only buy cues i like both in look and playability so i went to play with these cues who everyone rated ( and still do) extremely high ....................... Well lets just say that i never bought them and have never to this day owned one although they where and are still very visually pleasing to me and others... I cant ever forget the way those two cues played that day ten years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since he doesn't really make cues anymore.............Cousins. They were very small at the joint and had a long taper, made a Meucci look stiff by comparison. Bought 4 at a good price, was very happy to see them leave, I don't like selling an inferior product.

I bought a cue at WalMart about 2 and a half years ago that hit pretty damn good. $25, couldn't beat it. I had a Southwest that I didn't like, if you can believe it. Southwest cues are great, but for some reason, the one I had just didn't do the trick. Schons are my favorite though..............Shorty............Shorty......are you reading this? :D

Cuetec - Like holding a big piece of fibreglass, oh wait...

Meucci - I agree with whoever said a Players hit better.

I've got a drop-dead beautiful Pechauer. Hits like one of those dead-hit hammers. Just awful. I keep it around just to look at. Also have an old Harold Worst cue. Aptly named - it's indeed the worst. I also have a Richard Black cue that us totally unremarkable in the hit department. Although many brands of cues are noted for typical hit characteristics I think you can get a clinker from anybody. My best hitting cue is a Scruggs that Tim made for me in 1984 but I also have a $50.00 no name sneaky pete that hits equally as well. Go figure.

With out a doubt, Tad, many years ago. Tad gave it to me, because he and a room owner liked my game so much. Well, it was ok at first but after a short while it was dead as hell. I'd left the LA area at that time, on the road, when the forearm and handle parted ways. I threw it in the trash somewhere. I don't know about the joint, never noticed if it had a problem.

Oh, I wanted to mention, it was the ony time in my life I felt my game was in a slump. I mean if its an effort to draw whitey three feet you serously think you have problems. LOL

That's funny, I found a Tad in a trash can just outside L.A., I sold it for $5300. My lucky day, huh? ;)
