I bought a cue at WalMart about 2 and a half years ago that hit pretty damn good. $25, couldn't beat it. I had a Southwest that I didn't like, if you can believe it. Southwest cues are great, but for some reason, the one I had just didn't do the trick. Schons are my favorite though..............Shorty............Shorty......are you reading this? :D

That's funny! I had a Southwest also that I thought didn't play very well, couldn't every move the ball like I wanted to.

I had a Jacoby that looked great and hit great but it deflected soooooooooooo much it was impossible to aim on a hard hit English shot.

I gave it to an up and coming female and within a month she 'lost' it but i always figured her down and out boyfriend stole it and sold it.

I have played with quite a few Tad cues and I like them a lot. May be Rob just had a bad one I guess.
I do find that it has a lot of squirt but the hit is very solid and the workmanship is great. The Taiwanese player who came second in this year's World Pool Championship plays with a Tad.
It is such a shame that Rob has thrown it away. I am sure Tad would have fixed it for him. I supposed he really hated that cue. ;)
The worst cue I have ever played with was a Meucci I bought brand new and it either had a cracked ferrule or a crack somewhere since every now and then it would give a very bad sound. It was quite a few years ago when I bought it to use as a breaking cue. it was quite fancy (PP4) so a lot of my friends wanted to try to play with it, and they all hated it after trying it for less than half an hour.
I was in Japan so I did not really want to ship it back to Meucci. Anyway, I traded it for a Jay Flowers case with that Meucci, which to this day I would consider being one of the best trade I have ever made. :D

I can't really recall a bad hitting cue I have owned that easily...

The Sharkey cue I got off eBay was not that great...but he took it back. It was just too light at 16 ounces. The KC cue I had hit okay...but was just cheap feeling. I know a guy with a KC thats wood to wood that plays DANG good. Seriously, it hits as good as any wood to wood I have played with. For that cue with two shafts for 120 bucks...can't beat it.

Nope...none of them have been a total disappointment. Even the Bludworth was okay...bit butt heavy, but not a bad hit.

I just can't recall a bad hitting cue that I have owned, probably cause I would have sold 'em so fast.

How about a Carson cue?!?!? :D :p

I won a Fury cue in a tournament. That thing was lousy. I think I gave it away.

I played with several Huebler's that I thought were pretty good but I hit with this one guy's Huebler and it had the worst feel of any cue I had ever hit with. It was a plain cue and I couldn't believe that it was a Huebler...lol.

Personally, I've never liked Vikings.

Bad Cues

I think sometimes you get a bad tip and it makes a good hitting cue feel horrible. I love the way a Shon hits but a friend had one that was a dog untill he changed tips and then it hit like a Shon.---Smitty

All my cues hit bad.

You too? I just know I'd be a world-beater if only I could ever find a decent cue ;-)

Seriously though, I had one of those Halex "Titanium" things that came with a 2x2 vinyl case I needed. Cheap steel joint, shaft like a 28" length of half-cooked linguini, some kind of plastic ferrule. I put a Sumo hard tip on it and used it as a break cue for a while but even then it stunk on ice.

Pechauer

I owned two production Pechauers, both of them had really soft, mushy hitting characteristics.

On the other side, this guy Michael bought a 1960s Balabushka into league a couple of weeks ago. I have never in my life hit with anything quite like it. Like hitting with an unbreakable piece of glass. Hard to describe, but amazing.

Come to think of it, a guy gave me a Mali with a cracked ferrule about 15 years ago that he thought was a dog. I put on an Ivory ferrule and a LePro tip with a pad. Then made a sleeve out of 3/16" wall brass tubing to go over the joint pin that would snug up to the shaft insert real nice when it was screwed together. It gave it a little front weight. That thing hit a TON!....Of course I sold it....to get a Black Boar....that hit even better!:)....Gerry

I've got a cheap J&J cue which i dont really like the hit of, real dead with no feeling at all. I'm not a big fan of the way the way Predator playing cues hit either, something about them just doesn't feel right!
