TheOne defeats Ernesto Dominguez

Cheers guys, well I went down 9:6 to Marlon and played like a goose (probably a little harsh on the goose to be honest it was that bad)

Then I beat my mate John and also won my next match before losing to another filipino to place 3rd ($2000). So not to bad but I hope I learn my lesson on the sleep front next time!

Pretty good tournament though and met some great people.

PS
I think Marlon was 6:2 up in the final in a race to 11 single elim. The most frames he has lost was 6 to anyone on the whole comp, to some lucky sod :)

The other Filipino you played, Gerardo Jaminto, is one of the best players in California. No shame there.

Craig, congratulations on the strong finish at Hard Times. Keep up the good play. Your top finishes are making my escape at the VNEA look better and better. :D
Wishing you all the best, Dave

Thanks Dave, the way you played that day you deserved it, you where on a roll!

BTW, for those that don't know Dave beat me 5:2 TWICE in the VNEA 9 ball final in vegas last month (after I beat hime 5:0 on the winners side though ;-)

He also won pretty much averything else the VNEA had to offer that week lol

My brain cells have failed me and I cannot remember the Aussie's name on the left.

Oh my god! now you can tell I was telling the truth about the sleep, it looks like I haven't slept for a week lol

You can guess the irishman by the drinks lol, the best beer glasses I've seen in the states BTW :-))

Go The One Go!

Go to the qualifiers in Kaohsiung now.

Book that flight. :)

Cheers

Well done it, booked it this morning, I fly on Wednesday night to Kouhsiung for the qualifiers starting Sunday. Only 5 spots which is going to be really tough but after winning $7,000 in the last month I couldn't resisit. It will be good experience if nothing else.

the best thing is that after a month in Asia I fly back to the UK via NYC so I am hoping to play in the Big Apple Open and maybe the Joss finals depending on cash flow.

PS
I would be willing to hang around for the US open if I'm lucky enough to get picked! :o

Congratulations the One!! Sorry I missed you. I had to go back up to Reno Saturday for my sister-in-law's wedding, I just got home. Sounds like you must have a pretty awesome game. That Marlon is a top-notch player. I saw him playing up in Reno and was pretty impressed with him. He doesn't seem to play quite like Efren and Busta. He seems to have a stroke that more resembles a more orthodox stroke instead of that churning butter stroke that some of the other Filipinos have. At least that was my observation anyway.

Good luck in Kouhsiung!!

You've done pretty well mate.

I do think that some spots will become open. My prayers are with you and of course for the pinoys as well. :)

You only expected 2K, but you got yourself 7K. That's pretty good mate.

If you happen to passby HK, PM me and we can have some round of beers and pool. I'll also try and find you some game. No promises.

hi craig, congrats on a great showing. i don't know if you remember, but i was one of the ones chatting with you on this board a couple of years ago when you were making plans to come to the states (if you remember, i was the one who had talked to darren appleton about your game). well, i remember you had alot more confidence in your game than me based on my 2nd hand info, and to be honest i thought you were dreaming a bit. congrats on proving me wrong, and actually meeting goals you set, that is one of the more awesome achievments i have seen from "plans" people post on the pool forums.

keep it up, and i really hope you decide to play in the open (and i'll be rooting for you to qualify at the WPC, and it looks like you have an excellent chance).

warren..

Thanks Rick, I did ask about you but you had already left I think. So we managed to miss each other in both Reno and HT! Oh well maybe next time. Marlon's biggest strength is his potting and he also has an excellent safety game. I'm sure his snooker technique and background help in both of these areas.

Blow FIsh, my ticket is an open Jaw, into Taiwan and out of HK so I will be there for sure at some point. I am planning on taking the opportunity to go to Beijing to do a bit of sight seeing and maybe the comp in Sth Korea after the WPC? But looking forward to a few days in HK, I will let you know when I plan to be there.

Ernesto must be a poor player for Craig to win.

Gday Craig old son,

Good to hear your winning again. Good. You can give me that money you owe me. Also good to see you still walking around with your 2 cues out. Here's a hint, the cue's fold away into 2 pieces. Takes about 4 1/2 seconds.

Anyway, good luck with what ever you do and dont forget what ive tought you. Remember the way you play also impacts on me as people know i know you.

Take care champ.

p.s Richard says hi.

Tickets.
