Peter de Backer next year will not be playing anymore for the team of Delta in the Dutch league. The Belgian player has announced today, that he's looking for another team in the Netherlands. ,,I want to continue playing at the highest level'', he said.

There are a lot of rumours already for some weeks that Frédéric Caudron will play for the team of Sluiskil next year. The frontman of Crystal Kelly is also looking for a new team, because his current sponsor will stop at the end of this season. Caudron argues so far that he had no contact with Sluiskil.

Meerten Dallinga, the chairman in Sluiskil, also denied that there is any contact with Frédéric Caudron. ,,We have not decided yet about the composition of the team next year'', he said in Zundert during the Kersttoernooi.

Peter de Backer is playing this year on table three for Delta in Sluiskil and collected many matchpoints. In the Kersttoernooi he succeeded to eliminate Semih Sayginer in the preliminairies.

As Caudron will come to Delta, the expectation is that there will be a top team nex year with Frédéric Caudron at table one, Eddy Leppens at two, Glenn Hofman at three and Jean Paul de Bruijn at four.

Hi Gilbert,

I heard about it. I am also playing in Sluiskil, but I have no idea what happened and why this decision is made. You ask me if I can help Peter, but what do you want me to do? I apreciate you asking me :-) but I think Peter wil find a new team for next year. He is such a good player and it would be a shame if he wouldn't play in the Duth League anymore! And maybe my team will make a promotion to the Eredivisie this year, so I will talk with our captain about it... ;-)

Take care, Therese

That is the reality, every year some big sponsors quit their sponosrship, new sponsors and teams get involved also but the Dutch league has changed a bit the last 5 years...

5 years ago players like Polychronopoulos, Dani Sanchez, Sayginer, Yuksel etc. flew to the Netherlands every matchday to compete... this costs a lot of budget , which is not available anymore I think.

Next season the Crystal Kelly team will quit, this means that Caudron, van Kuyk Burgman and Raymond Ceulemans will search for another team, the socalled "transfer-carrousell" has already started... were will Caudron play next season, were will Peter de Backer go to ? We will se.... so stay tuned for the latest transfer gossip :)

Guys,

F Coudron is such a great player and i'm sure he wont have problem finding a league to play for.

I'm very interested in knowing more about the leagues around the world especially in Europe. What are the seasons of the league and how do the system work? What kind of tournaments do they play? I guess good players over there must make very good living at it. I'm just curious what it would be like to play as a pro. I always dream that i was given a chance and some talent to play 3C professionally and own a billiard club.

By the way, my young superstar P. Kasidokotas, where is he playing now? what country?

Thanks...

The seasons in Europe ( National League's/competition ) mosly are from end August/begin September untill April or May. They play mostly, on the highest level for example, to 50 points, but no sets. A League lower to 45 points or 40 points etc., but never to sets. Most players play in different competitions in different countries, like Belgium, Germany, France, Spain, Holland etc. So yes, some make a nice living of it, but only a few can call themselves full-pro's.

And Filipos, as far as I know, he is only playing in Greece.... Not in Germany, Belgium or Holland, that's for sure.

Hope I was helpfull.

Best Regards, Therese
