Things that I do not like about the Mosconi Cup, that really annoy me.

I do not know if these things (that annoy me) only happen in the Mosconi Cup, or if they also happen in other pool events, but here are a few things that really annoy me about it.

The 1st thing is all of the noise from the audience, and what is even worse (much worse I think) is that the Audience does not seem to have much respect for the other team (that they are not cheering for), because they always cheer and make fun when the other side makes a mistake or misses a shot (I just think that is not cool).

It all just seems like a circus to me (everything except for the pool playing, I mean).

Why can't at least the teams respect the other side enough to not laugh and cheer when a player on the other side makes a mistake?

Sorry if I am wrong about that last thing that I said, but I thought that is what I seen at times (from the team mates and captains in the crowd).

That is all I can think of right now, but something else might come to mind later.

I am curious if this type of behavior (from the crowd) happens in any other events?

Not that your list of things doesn't have merit to them, but, what was the last men's tournament that was on TV, even ESPN 3? I don't care for much of what goes on in an actual pool player sense but if it could lead to, at least, the possibility of some TV exposure, then whatever, I'm all for it.

No it's not that way for the most part at other events but this is a different kinda even very similar to golfs Ryder Cup where it's more like a sporting even rather than a funeral
I love it personaly

I think it's great. I wish all pool tournaments had people cheering and jeering.

I understand that maybe it makes it more fun to watch (for the general public), but even the team mates that were in the crowd were doing the same thing, and cheering when the other side made mistakes (which I really think is just wrong and not cool). I just thought it was annoying, and wrong. I really understand now why the Mosconi Cup gives the players by far the most pressure out of any other event. Not only do they have the pressure of it being a team match (with the thought of possibly letting down their team if they make a mistake), but they have 100's of noisy fans in the audience. It is almost like being sharked on every shot I think. And I also think that all of the clapping after every single shot made is just silly.

They clap in snooker when someone misses after a good run or sometimes to cheer their players on when coming back to the table, i think the crowd is fun and adds some life to the game.

Cheering and jeering....I like that.

Fatty used to say to sensitive players that wanted respect...
"Go play in a wax museum."

I like the cheering. Similar to european football matches. America needs to work on there "cheering chants" though it is lacking something.

It would be less exciting to hear a tennis type crowd, too posh for pool.

Oh, so you want Bonus Ball, then. See how that worked out.

Cheering should be encouraged. Cheering when the opponent misses is okay, if it is in the spirit of 'Hey, we get to shoot again' and it shouldn't be by the actual incoming player.

Reminds me of my swimming days. My coach had a couple of simple rules. When a swimmer won his event, it was okay to celebrate the victory in the water. Don't demean the other competitors because they went out and did it. Shake hands with the people in the lanes adjacent. Always stay in the water until the last person finished (Which, at the HS level and swimming the long events could take a bit of time).

Celebrating accomplishments is great, show some personality. Don't ride the pony around the table, don't javelin your cue, don't jump on the table. Yell once, fist pump, high five others, but then act like a human, take the energy down and thank your opponent. If he was a good sportsman during the match, tell him you look forward to competing with him again.

As a fan, cheer for your team, don't cheer against the other. Remember, there is no show without the opposing team.
