I took some hits (1/2 hr.) with a layani cue and really liked it. I'm looking for some feedback from other Layani cue owners current or previous or anyone who has sampled his cues. What do you think of the conical joint etc. RJ

I'll let you know as I should be getting my cue this week.

Being a big fan of a wood to wood radial pin, the steel jointed conical is a vast difference in concept......

How long did you have to wait for him to get it made?

I have had my Layani for just under a year now, and I think it is a great cue. Admittedly, my overall experience with cues is not as vast as others on the board, but I do know that I like the Layani.

It took a while to get used to because it hits *hard*. I would guess that is a function of the joint since the weight of the Layani is the same as my previous cue, I couldn't tell you for sure.

To top it all off, Thierry is a great guy to deal with. I havn't talked to him in a while, but I think he generally runs 3-4 months from order to shipping.

Hope that helps!

I had my Layani for 3 months now. It is 19 oz but feels lighter. The butt feels thinner than most cues. I got the stacked leather and really like it. If I hit the CB dead center I get a good solid thud, If I hit off center I can feel the vibration. It also seems as if I have a tendency to hit the CB harder with this cue. It is not a forgiving cue. The english really takes. Your stroke has to be dead on to make a long straight in shot; if not the OB will be thrown. Everything is magnified. This may have to do with the Moori tip. I do not really think that the joint has anything to do with the playability. He makes nice looking cues at decent prices. My regret is that I did not get a fancier one. It took about 4 months.

I just got back from the poolroom (ouch it's 1:30 a.m and I've got to work tommorow) accompanied with my new Layani cue.

After playing with it for a few hours I must say I was very ,very impressed and started to love it more and more as time wore on.Lots of spin (Moori 3,med tip) and a solid hit. That conical joint really is a nice piece of work.If you are thinking of buying a new cue, you can't go wrong with a Layani.RJ
