Thinking of going with a Mezz Kai, Yes or no

What do you think? No wrap or their sport wrap? Keep the Sonic or switch to a Samara?

I was thinking of a BK3 but there are so many for sale, maybe there is a reason.

The Kai sounds good, but they all make their cues sound great

Thanks

Have you tried the Mezz Dual Force break cue? That thing is in a league of its own.

I prefer the wrapless one, but many players seem to really like the rubber sports grip.
The Sonic tip is fine, not a big Samsara fan myself, if I where to change the stock tip, my choice would be Taom or White Diamond

Thanks Kim. My player is a wrapless. I don't like wraps, but I thought maybe with a break cue.

What, the Samsara is not hard enough? I heard of White Diamond, not the Taom.

Probably save a few buck and go wrapless and see how I do with the Sonic.

I don't keep up with all the new model names ... I have what was called a Power Break Pro when I bought it new about 3 or 4 years ago.

This cue has a very heavy shaft that is dark brown from the joint up towards the tip for about 6 inches. It has the sonic tip.

For me this is the best, by far, breaker I have ever played with. I think everything about it is great, best cue ball control I have ever had.

Perhaps Kim Bye will know what I have and if it's made today or just has a different model name.

The quality of the cue is unsurpassed in the production cue market as far as I'm concerned .. good luck.

I definitely much prefer no wrap.
That way the cue feels exactly like my play cue and the cue feels the same everywhere, no matter where I grip it.
Just my feeling.
No one can tell you how you feel about it, or how you WILL feel about it.

Thanks Agent99 . I may have heard about that cue a while back. I always wanted to try a Mezz. No is the time

Thanks 9Ballr I agree. No wrap it is.

I don't know if the reason is the same as I've felt when I have tried
breaking with one but each time someone let's me try their bk3
I always feel like they completely suck.

Of the two I much prefer the bk2.

But that's just my feeling on the two.
I think the early bk2's were made in Florida before Predator
moved to China, but I may be wrong about that.

If it's the one I sold you it's the Power Break Pro with the H (massaranduba) shaft.

I have one as well.

They don't make that model anymore but if I had to buy another break cue today I would definitely go with the Kai.

Get the wrapless one too. I hate rubber grips on cues simply because they don't go into certain cases well... too grabby.

I have read a number of people say they felt they 2 was better.
Never got to try one just a gut feeling. There always seems to be a few BK3s for sale here and on ebay.

Thanks branpueza. Good point about the rubber being grabby. I have an older beater Instroke case that is kinda small inside, that would have been a problem.

OK folks thanks for your help. I just purchased the Kai , wrapless. I went with the standard Sonic tips for now.

I think you will like it , I've had mine about three weeks now and it is getting better everyday.

Congrats ! ... You purchased a high quality cue, one that can be with you for a very long time.

If I own a cue it has to be wrapless - so easy to wipe down and put away. Not to mention that you will never have to get it re-wrapped.

About the Sonic tip ... I remember when my Sonic was new that it did not hold chalk very well at first. I considered roughing it up with 400 grit but decided not to. After breaking about 50 racks the tip came into it's own.

I have never had to do anything to the tip ... holds its shape perfectly and the cue ball control is just incredible. Now, after about three years, the tip looks and plays like it did when it was new.

Good rolls

Thank you my friend I am looking forward to getting my technique down. I will now have a good tool to work with. I'm only 67 so I have plenty of time lol. I have a decent break but I want to work on my accuracy and up my percentages of potted balls on the break. I may get back in APA I was a 4 . We'll see
