I am no fan of a cuetec but the fact you can soak the thing in a bathtub for a week without warping should be mentioned. For a non serious player I believe it is a good cue since you can leave it in your car for a week or drop it on the floor without damage.
The downside is the shaft sucks ass and everything feels very synthetic. In the topic creators case I don't think a cuetech is the right choice. If you have a membership here I believe that has brought you past being the 'casual' player type
