This Is It....Worth The Wait.....Arrives Next Week

Great news........my best friend is buying a pool room in Fresno.......Good Times Are Coming Back!

And a brand new pool room is opening in a couple of weeks in the Tower District area of Fresno.

Both my new cues arrived without a hitch.....really delighted with both......see my surgeon again on 6/7.

I am excited to resume playing pool again & hopefully soon because only looking at these cue kinda sucks.

p.s. Slide, just took some more photos of the wrap in the sunlight.

A Few More Photos

Sometimes everything goes your way with a project and of course, we all know the alternative to that.

I probably should refer to this cue as "Bing" because everything was "Going My Way" with how it turned out.
The design turned out better than I had hoped & there's one small thing I'd add that would make it more novel.

Look me up if you come to any of the Mezz West Coast stops in Fresno......you are welcome to examine or
test drive any cue I own. That's really the only way to pay it forward nowadays in reference to the cue-making
industry because how else does one learn except through opportunity & trial and error.

The close-up photos of the sleeve has a lot of dust on it so in the sunlight it shows but in the first photo of the
cue butt, you can see how it just shines in the light.

Nice! Really like the grey wrap and didnt think I would originally. Great looking cue, excellent color selection on the veneers too! Congrats on a beauty!

Big Pin Ivory Joints......My Favorite.

I really have to have some custom protectors made.......I don't care for the plastic protector tops and does anyone know if Alton is taking on new orders?

I've already spoken with Jim Baxter about what I'd like made and he also suggested Alton as well.

p.s. Slide....the wrap was a big gamble.......Cortland Linen #9 is on most of my cues but the white / green speck wouldn't look right and all black would have
turned out too dark so I was baffled since what I wanted was Cortland Linen #12 (white w/ black speck) but couldn't locate any. I do not care for any of the
linen wraps available today and was struggling what to do.....woke up one day and thought "how about gray" and then I couldn't find much and when I did,
the gray was really dark, too dark for what I wanted.

I spotted an EE wrap on a cue that was gary and searched endlessly until Martin Bick galloped in to rescue me. He went through his inventory and picked the
lightest color gray wrap and it was the deluxe version. It is worth the higher price.....Wow....what a great wrap this is.......you'd have to hold the cue to appreciate.
So all in all, I think I just got lucky this time around. Everything in this design seems to click & turned out so nice, I'd like to do another cue design I have in mind.

A beautifully executed cue with the type inlays that exude "classic"

I am glad you were able to receive this cue prior to the coming madness.

I am ready.....respirator mask in the closet for the white powder envelopes I'll be getting.
Fresno PD Bomb Squad Tel # is on my emergency contacts........
My Para is cocked & locked & loaded 45 cal Speer Gold Dots.....
And my cues reside in my gun safe when not with me.......

Does it sound like I'm expecting good things in the mail from my admirers & fans on Az?
Maybe not but I'll deal with whatever comes or doesn't....Not too popular round these parts.

When you are in the homestretch of your overall life expectancy, you find you have giant brass
balls and nothing intimidates, deters or makes you back down from anything or anyone. So
let the Fresno Bomb Squad earns their salaries and be sure to ship that C-4 carefully.

I wasn't talking about anything bad at all. You know believe it or not there are some here who think you are a nice guy. That's a good looking cue btw. Excellent color scheme and it flows o so smooth.

Alton....I knew that and my reply was really intended for a dozen or so Azers that I tend to rankle,

Matt, the cue is a stunner, congrats on it. Praying you can shoot with them both soon. Love the pic with all the Ivory joints together. My favorite joint as well. We already have the Ivory ban in NJ, so I'll be traveling to pick up my Sly and my Treadway will be getting shipped to my parents place in Delaware. Hopefully my other order will be picked up at the next Sbe.

I Am Now Content & Very Pleased To Beat CA's Ivory Ban Deadline

Greg.....Since you enjoyed the photo of my cues' ivory joints,
I'm pretty sure the below photo should be right up your alley.

Great stuff Matt. think our only difference in cues is the wrap. I prefer leather over linen of any kind, but other than that very close.

QUOTE: Now I know some might say how would they catch you and the legal staff of my local Assemblyman Jim Patterson explained how your cue can get detected by busting someone else. Ivory is already being strictly regulated nationwide and as such, you can get caught even years afterwards through what's referred to as an audit discovery. A seller(s) of of legal pre-1978 ivory get audited and in turn cue-makers can get audited and in turn sales records get reviewed. That's how they can catch you besides just someone opening & inspecting your shipping carton.

DEALING in raw ivory is one thing.....but I promise you, the Gov't will NOT come knocking on your door looking for 29 grams of ivory inlaid into a cue you bought. It's the same thing as guns...everyone is SOOO scared the gov't is coming for your guns, they are not. they WILL NOT knock on your door and fine you or confiscate your stuff. To this day, there is not a requirement to document with the gov't when a private person buys or sells a gun or ivory inlaid pool cue with another private person. THEREFORE....if the impossible were to happen, and the Gov't DID come a knockin, i'd simply pour myself a scotch, ask for a search warrant, then politely advise the spooks that each and every gun and ivory pool cue I've ever owned has been sold to unknown individuals that came down from outter space.

It's all done pretty easily. If cue-maker A buys legal pre-ban ivory and the supplier of the ivory is audited as happens from time to time, the cue-makers buying that ivory become known, if they already aren't. Cue-makers can get audited as a result of this and rest assured CA cue-makers definitely will.....walk-in surprise audits unannounced by Fish & Wildlife......God help the cue-maker that has any ivory in process....the fine is enormous.......and represents quick easy money for the Fish & Wildlife Agency.

Cue-makers in other states get reported to the state Fish & Wildlife of the cue-maker's domicile.......it's all done without ever leaving one's office, except for CA field agents that drop in announced. This is real.....do nothing , poo poo it, ignore it, deny it......I really do not care. I have my collection with more than enough cues with ivory.......and mine are all legal with supporting documentation to corroborate the same. Every pool cue has its own individual file so that my kids have it very easy to prove provenance and legitimacy of my collection.
