what do these terms mean? lathe wise

Swing over bed:
Swing over gap:
Swing over cross slide:
Distance between centers:
Cross slide travel:
Top slide travel:

Lathe definitions

The parts the pics will not answer are:
- the definition of a gap which is a removable part of the bed which increases the swing
-top slide is another name for compound rest

I hope that makes it a bit clearer, I know the pics are not the best.
